Cancellation & Refund Policy

Life with a one-year-old is beautifully unpredictable. We get it. This policy is designed to be fair to both families and to our small business. Please read it before booking — and reach out if you ever have questions or a special situation we haven't covered.
Deposits
All session deposits are non-refundable. A deposit is required to hold your session date. When you pay a deposit, that date is taken off our calendar and held exclusively for your family.
While deposits cannot be refunded, they are transferable — meaning if you need to cancel, your deposit can be applied toward a future session that you reschedule within a reasonable timeframe (see rescheduling terms below).
Mini Session Cancellations
Mini sessions are offered at a reduced rate and operate on tighter logistics (back-to-back bookings, shared location setups, etc.). As a result, they have a stricter policy:
- Cancellation: Non-refundable under all circumstances
- Transfer: Your deposit and any payments made may be transferred to a future available mini session or upgraded to a full session (balance adjusted accordingly)
- Rescheduling: Subject to mini session availability, which is limited
Full Session Cancellations
For full sessions, refunds on payments beyond the deposit are calculated based on how much notice is provided before the session date:
In all cases, the original deposit remains non-refundable. "Days before" means calendar days counted from the day of your scheduled session.
Rescheduling
We offer one free reschedule per booking, provided you give us at least 48 hours' notice before your scheduled session.
- Rescheduling is subject to availability
- Your deposit and any payments made will transfer to the new date
- Rescheduled sessions must take place within 6 months of the original booking date
- If no rescheduled date is set within 6 months, the booking is considered cancelled and any applicable refund policy applies
Second reschedule: If you need to reschedule again, a rescheduling fee may apply. Please contact us — we'll always try to work something out.
Less than 48 hours' notice: Rescheduling requests made fewer than 48 hours before the session are treated as a late cancellation. The refund policy above applies, and a new deposit will be required to book a new date.
No-Shows
If you do not appear for your scheduled session and have not contacted us in advance:
- The session is forfeited with no refund
- A new deposit will be required to rebook
If something unexpected prevented you from reaching us before your session, please contact us as soon as possible. We understand emergencies happen and will always try to find a solution.
Weather and Emergency Cancellations
If severe weather, a family emergency, or a sudden illness forces you to cancel — we will work with you. Contact us as soon as possible and we will reschedule your session at no additional cost, with no penalty applied.
What qualifies:
- Weather: Severe weather warnings, dangerous road conditions, or weather that makes travel to the studio unsafe
- Illness: Child or parent illness that prevents attendance — please do not bring a sick child to the session. Reschedule and everyone benefits
- Family emergency: Hospitalization, accident, bereavement, or similar unforeseen circumstances
We may ask for brief confirmation (e.g., a weather service screenshot or a short note) for weather cancellations but will never require documentation in sensitive personal circumstances.
Photographer Cancellation
In the rare event that we must cancel your session due to illness, equipment failure, or another reason on our end:
- You will receive a full refund of all payments made, including the deposit
- You will be given priority rebooking at your preferred date and time
- We will notify you as early as possible and do everything we can to minimize disruption
Refund Processing
Approved refunds are processed within 5 to 10 business days of the cancellation being confirmed. Refunds are issued to the original payment method. Processing time after we initiate the refund depends on your bank or card issuer and is outside our control.
If you have not received your refund after 10 business days, please contact us and we will look into it.
How to Cancel or Reschedule

Please include your name, your child's name, and your scheduled session date in any cancellation or reschedule request. We will confirm receipt and next steps within one business day.
